Loss of recreational space and panoramic views . Access for the area concerned is already poor and in winter conditions dangerous due to steep roads and lack of council assistance when icy. Buildings will detract from the beautiful views of Saltaire in particular Salts Mill .The area concerned is landfill of a previous quarry and presumably in need of major development to render safe building land. Access to the site would either be from Moor View or Wycliffe Road both have poor junction access and egress, either into Kirkgate with its restricted view or the very busy Saltaire Road.

The site is used recreationally by families in housing nearby due to lack of gardens. The area is already densely populated. Would take away one of the few remaining fields in the area. Roads not suitable for Heavy plant machinery. Especially as there is a nursery close by. Disruption/noise to locals for 5 years not acceptable given their proximity to the proposed site. Impact on nearby house prices.

The area proposed for this build has a high polition rate due to Saltaire road being a short cut for many people avoiding traffic, so to build houses here would increase pollution for the area causing health issues for many.
The field itself is used by many children of all ages, and has been for many years.

Unsightly, unecessary, mish-mash of housing already in that area, dont need any more. Roads already exceedingly busy. School should be kept as free as possible from pollution and people able to enjoy the green space. Shading the Wycliffe flats. No need

I object because of the removal of green belt land which is used by the residents of the area in particular the children and pet owners. Children have very little play area and if this is taken away they will have to cross a very busy road to get to Roberts Park. Also I am very concerned of the excess cars this will put into the area notably Saltaire Road which is already suffering due to volume of traffic.

Elliott Street is extremely busy. Parking is already a problem. The grass/ground is used by parents and children for recreational purposes. This area is the gateway to Saltaire village and also near to Saltaire shopping area. The proposed dwellings are not in sync with the area. The existing Wycliffe flats are already a problem. Local residents of Elliott St have had numerous issues with residents of the flats. Saltaire is the jewel of Bradford and the proposed dwellings take the shine away from it and this is a travesty. If this goes ahead, I will pursue a "class action".

This area of grassland is well used by the local community and as an area in which children play. The existence of an open space within an otherwise built up area is invaluable, especially during the recent Covid restrictions. I also have concerns regarding how safe vehicular access could be constructed to the site given the local topography and that the local streets already struggle to cope with the number of vehicles being parked in the area.

This is a valuable green space in a deprived area. Furthermore, local schools, dentists and GPS are already at capacity, so 44 more households would have a significant impact on the provision of services for new households and existing ones too.

-This greenfield site provides vital access to open space for local residents. The space has been actively used by residents of all ages for generations.
-Council support has included a temporary play pod scheme (2010 for 2 years) to support children's play in this area.
-The land is surrounded by housing with little to no garden space (terraced houses with yards, flats, houses in multiple occupancy).
-The map shows we are a deprived area. We need this space. It has been essential for outdoor activity during COVID. Parks are too far away for elderly & young children's play.
-Site has been used for other community activities.
-Site provides visual amenity and sporting and recreation function - overlook in the Open Space Audit.

I object to this development. Shipley has limited green space - this would be bad for biodiversity and bad for the local community, who I know use this field space well for their children to play on. Without this space local children have to travel a fair distance (across busy main roads) to reach either of the local parks. Additionally this area is very close to what is already a congested main road with some of the worst pollution records in Bradford and adding extra cars to the area will worsen this problem considerably.

This is the only green land in a densely populated area and provides outdoor recreation for many families who live in terrace housing or flats. Convenient outdoor space within easy reach of homes has proved to be vital during the pandemic and will continue to be so.

I grew up very nearby and I used regularly to play on and have picnic on this field. This is a vitally important and well-used green space at the heart of Shipley, which is quite far from other large green spaces such as Northcliffe or Roberts Park. There are lots of flats nearby and small terraces without gardens and this is a place where residents can unwind and exercise, particularly during lockdown. The amount of green space is what makes Shipley such a great place to grow up in and it would be a huge shame to lose that.

Many of the homes around this area don't have gardens and to take this much needed green space away would, in my opinion, be an absolutely devastating blow to many people, adults and children alike. We need green spaces for our mental health. I grew up in one of those houses so know from experience just how necessary this land is, without it my siblings and friends would have had nowhere to play football or ride our bikes safely away from traffic.

This area is incredibly valuable to my family and community, we do not have a garden, only a yard and the green allows us outside space.
There is no other green space for my daughter to play in, before Covid she was able to play with neighbours and during lockdown we have been out everyday for local exercise.
This is not empty space; it is a shared garden for us and countless people in the area, essential to our physical and mental well being.

Objection to houses being built on Wycliffe Road. It is used all year round - for recreation - and will impact hugely on the surrounding residents. It is used for a playground for kids, for dog walking, has spectacular views of Salts Mill and is the best place for sledging in the area!

Green spaces like Wycliffe playing fields are the lungs of urban areas. My children played there when small and they are important for future generations. Why does the council not look at brownfield sites. There are numerous ones within walking distance of Shipley centre.

Site is important community and recreational greenspace
Two previous applications were rejected because of the strength of Community feeling. This has not changed !
The land is used to: Meet Neighbours, exercise, play, sledge and provides outside space for homes without Gardens . This would be lost if these houses were built here and would massive impact this Area.
Other Brownfield sites in this area more suitable for Social Housing .
The relatively small number of houses proposed on this site cannot justify the Massive impact on over 200 Households who use this Green Space on a Daily basis.
The land provides an outstanding view of the UNESCO world Heritage site that is Salts Mill and Saltaire Village which would be forever lost in a sea of Houses .
Government and local policy in past years has dictated that Recreational Open Space like this should be protected for Community Use .

Until recently my family and I lived in a flat nearby. We did not have any outdoor space with our flat and used this green space most days. It was especially important during the pandemic when we couldn't go out. Almost all the houses and flats surrounding the area have no outdoor space or small paved yards so many people use this as their outdoor space as there isn't a park particularly close.

It's a quiet dead ending road so quite safe for my children who play on the field with other local children very often. The proposed site will take that away and increasing traffic affects their safety. The field is used by the surrounding community on a daily basis so is not a disused site. Building on it would remove a local community outdoor space.

Loss of green space which has especially during Covid shown to improve mental health and well being.
Increased volume of traffic and danger to children playing.
Green space protects against air pollution
Local children can play here safely.
The benefits of development do not outweigh the disadvantages for such a small number of housing units
Brownfield sites should be a priority for developement.
Protection of green space should be a priority for the community health and well being and protecting against climate change

This is the only play area for children within 1/4 mile. The only green space in a built up area of flats and houses mostly occupied by the underprivileged families. This is a valued open space used by the whole community for please and recreation. Government and local policies is that these spaces should be protected for the mental well being of all ages These benefits of this open space far outweighs a few residencies that can be built here. No where for children to play = vandalism and antisocial behaviour = future slum areas = drug use

This space has been incredibly useful throughout the pandemic. It offers enough space for exercise. For those who can't get further it is a wonderful place to get fresh air. The roads around the flats are busy anyway and anymore houses will cause utter chaos not to mention an increase in air, light and noise pollution.
