The volume of traffic at peak times trying to exit from the end of green lane is immense. The junction is already dangerous and is used by large numbers you g to the school and Robert's park.

Impact on junction with Otley Road - a notorious black spot with close misses several times a week. Any development in this area should consider this junction and include improvements as a part of planning being permitted.

Baildon is not short of houses and has seen significant development over recent years.
It is likely that any development would not provide affordable houses but larger detached properties which are not necessary.
I do not support the development of remaining areas of green belt and oppose any further inevitable increase in traffic onto West Lane and through Baildon centre.
The development will also put additional strain on the local infrastructure.
When combined with BA2/H and BA6/H and BA1/H this is a total of 127 new houses, none of which are needed.

Serious concerns about traffic problems at the junction of Green Lane and Otley Road. This junction is already congested and dangerous and further housing would exacerbate this.
The area has been prone to flooding in recent years so seems unsuitable for housing.
This road is a gateway to Roberts Park and Saltaire WHS , any changes should be sympathetically designed with this in mind.

a. This site needs to be developed sympathetically in order for it to complement the site.
b. It is in a good location for transport.
c. This site will add to traffic issues on the junction of Green Lane with Otley Road.
d. There is an issue with flooding in this area so the land/building requires adequate protection from this possibility.

I object to this plan mainly on environmental grounds . It is home to deer in the summer and is still part of the connection to Shipley glen . Speaking with other locals I also object to the extra pressure a new development would put on the already conjested road system . I understand there is a shortage of houses but I'm strongly against any works taking place in said field . Thanks for reading this !

I support this with the proviso that road improvements are undertaken at the Green Lane/Otley Road junction. Otherwise continued back up of traffic queuing in the former will make air quality for residents poor. Both parts of this site have been previously developed and although grassed since could still be taken to be brownfield.
There are concerns regarding the spring, the house above is called Springcliffe, and the mature trees on site.
Further, in 2015 houses opposite across Cliffe Lane and the retail unit adjacent to the site were flooded in the Boxing Day floods.

The proposal for 30 houses on this particular site doesn't appear to take serious regard to the unsustainable traffic situation as it is presently.
If each household has 2 vehicles the potential traffic situation, as well as the accompanying deterioration of air quality, leaves one questioning how desperate would one be to want to actually live there.
The loss of the old building as a community resource is to be regretted as no new amenity is proposed for any of these developments.

I feel the traffic from the Green Lane/Otley Road junction is already too much and we’re currently in a national lockdown! I could look out of my window on a Saturday morning and see a tail stretching all the way back to Coach Road. Midweek you have bad traffic from Salts school and the usual work traffic too.
Another point is wildlife. The last few years, the field has been home to a family of deer. I believe that they come down there to give birth and the use the field until winter comes. Add to that the hundreds of squirrels that use the trees in the field as a playground. New houses would ruin quite a few animals habitats.

I object to the use of BA4/H for housing on the grounds of overshadowing and overlooking Springcliffe House. The extra traffic and congestion, which will be caused on Green Lane, and the junction of Green Lane and Otley Road. Traffic will back up and cause problems for Otley Road, Green Lane and Cliffe Lane. This is already a dangerous area for traffic and pedestrians. Part of this site (the old college site) has had problems with severe flooding in recent years causing damage to housing and businesses, and on one occasion people in the corner house had to rescued by lifeboat. Green Lane regularly gets flooded with surface rainwater as there are drainage problems. Trees and grassy areas provide a natural habitat for wildlife and must be beneficial to the environment.

Building on this site would increase traffic problems at the notorious Otley Rd/Green Lane junction. Green Lane/Coach Road is the main access route to Titus School and increased traffic use to access Saltaire World Heritage site means it is heavily used, often parking probs causing difficulties for buses etc. Back up of traffic can affect residents of Coach Road. Flooding also a problem affecting this site and concerns re protecting variety if wildlife.

Concerned by the lack of protection to the green belt, ancient woodland (protected by TPO) and the use of land which has a history of flooding.
Concerns regarding section 5.8.33. Here it is mentioned that the four Baildon primary schools are under capacity. By what extent? Detail is not provided. I would regard this as both an oversight and essential information considering the claimed major positive effect on the education SA objective for these proposed development areas.
BA4/H Green Lane
I have grave concerns regarding this proposal on the grounds of flooding. This area of Baildon frequently floods and I would urge the council to consider the wider implications. Development here could lead to worsening flood risk in particular if mature trees are damaged/removed.

The area strategy and allocations proposed for Baildon are based on a fundamentally flawed Green Belt Review where Arup has inconsistently applied ratings to sites. As such this evidence base and the resultant proposed allocations fail to meet the policy test for release. Further details set out on the appended objection.

Ref: Green Lane, Cliffe Lane West, Honey Pot Drive, Stubbings Road, Meadowside Road.
I write regarding concerns to the proposed plans for new housing on the above sites.
More houses would mean further demand on local resources such as GP practices, which are already stretched, dental practices, there are already no vacancies for an NHS dentist in the local area, there would also be more competition for school places.
More roads would mean an increase in traffic which is already heavy in the village.
Fewer trees would mean more flooding, Green Lane in particular already has issues with flooding. The loss of these green spaces would also have a major effect on the local wildlife & would also impact on general well-being.

As a resident of the area I strongly object to this proposal, for the following reasons.
- The traffic at the green lane junction is already dreadful. This will make it even worse.
- Green lane is fortunate to be in the middle of two green corridors, the river Aire and a corridor leading from Midgley to Fairnbank woods to the river. These fields are the only real connection other than the road. Chopping these mature trees and urbanising the land would surely have a negative effect on the wildlife we’re fortunate to see in the area.
- I can see the area from my garden and it would my view.

Even if we discount any portions of this site falling within Flood Zones 2 and 3a and reduce the area for development to the 85% of the site lying within Flood Zone 1, the remaining 1.05ha is only planned to produce a unit density of 29 per ha. Of all the sites under discussion for Baildon, this is the best (or least worst!) one which could, objectively, provide for ‘medium density affordable housing’. Densities of 26, 26 and 19 units per hectare respectively, included in the Draft Plan at the 3 Green Belt sites already discussed in this submission, would be likely to produce precisely zero contribution to any conceivably sensible definition of ‘affordable’. This site would appear to be more suitable for somewhat higher density of affordable homes.

Regarding the Local Plan for Bradford I would like to object to the Plans being made for the building of housing in Baildon. There are too many houses for the road network as it is so additional housing with cause greater congestion, noise pollution and more.

This attractive greenfield site serves as a buffer between Shipley and Baildon and this would be lost if it is developed for housing. I was pleased to see it recorded that the existing mature trees should be retained and preserved with any development. Concerns over this site are flooding plus access from the Green Lane/Otley Road junction where there have been a number of accidents.
