Draft Bradford District Local Plan - Preferred Options (Regulation 18) February 2021

Representation ID: 3294

Received: 22/03/2021

Respondent: Wilsden Parish Council

Representation Summary:

We note the proposal for a new potential site In Wilsden adjacent to the existing Bank Top Quarry and our concerns relate to both this and the provisions of Policy 16 for Mineral Site restoration. The development of the new site should not be seen as a reason to delay the restoration of the original site once the existing workings are depleted.

Draft Bradford District Local Plan - Preferred Options (Regulation 18) February 2021

Representation ID: 5641

Received: 24/03/2021

Respondent: Mrs Jane Callaghan

Representation Summary:

Bank Top currently has planning permission for 13ha (with actual working area of 9.1ha due to peripheral constraints) over 32 years ending in 2019 beyond the plan period. There is therefore no need to make provision in the Local Plan for a further quarry extension of 9.8ha with its presumption of planning permission. It is also important that the rate of extraction is not speeded up by such a presumption when the long term needs for stone needs to be considered
