The Policy currently provides no safeguards for heritage
assets of national and international importance, including
non-designated heritage assets of archaeological interest
which are demonstrably of equivalent significance to
Scheduled Monuments as per NPPF footnote 63.
Criterion B.2, amend to read:
‘2. Locations outside of areas where the
natural and historic environment is
protected under national and international
statutory designations (including nondesignated heritage assets of
archaeological interest which are
demonstrably of equivalent significance to
scheduled monuments);
