Draft Bradford District Local Plan - Preferred Options (Regulation 18) February 2021

Representation ID: 475

Respondent: Mr Neil Collins

Representation Summary:

Bradford has a plentiful supply of brownfield sites that have not been developed.
In her judgement dated 8/6/2020 in Aireborough Neighbourhood Development Forum vs Leeds City Council, Mrs Justice Lieven found that it was wrong to leave Green Belt sites in a development plan solely because the Council wished to reduce the numbers around the district proportionately. Green belt should be removed from the plan and brownfield sites built on first.
This judgement is surely just as relevant to Bradford.
Our Prime Minister's "Build Build Build" announcement on 30/6/2020 said brownfield building would be made easier to protect Green Belt. This should be bourne in mind and our Green Belt not built on.

Draft Bradford District Local Plan - Preferred Options (Regulation 18) February 2021

Respondent: Mrs Ellen Dobson

Representation Summary:

I live in this area and due to the New housing on Branshaw Park the amount of traffic and speeding vehicles from the housing development and contractors, concerns me enough to object to further housing being accessed via Camborne Way onto Occupation Lane.
This current housing development is behind schedule due to poor drainage concerns on what is bogland. Until access is made via Oakworth Road instead of Wheathead lane to this and the proposed housing up Occupation Lane and at Wheathead Farm, many residents on Camborne Way are being hinded with further heavy goods vehicles passing there homes at speed and more debris on the sunken highway. Although the current housing development is <50% complete the amount of increased traffic along the narrow street in mine and other residents opinion it is already at capacity for such a built up residential street.

Draft Bradford District Local Plan - Preferred Options (Regulation 18) February 2021

Representation ID: 977

Received: 08/03/2021

Respondent: Marcus Gregg

Representation Summary:

1) No greenbelt and open spaces should be sacrificed until ALL brownfield sites are exhausted within the whole borough and all derelict listed building renovation and conversion has been completed.
2) No development should be considered that contravenes any planning regulations such as deprivation of daylight (already seen to be ignored in previous planning by BMBC) and highway safety.

Recommendation: Sort out the traffic in Keighley with a full review and universal strategy, invest in rejuvenation and renovation of heritage sites, and listen to the local voice and allow Keighley town to make it's own decisions about how to grow.

Representation Summary:

I strongly object to Bradford Council building houses on Greenbelt land. There are enough Brown field sites with abandoned buildings and unused warehousing that should be considered first. Also what about housing that is unoccupied by missing landlords? Why aren’t these compulsory purchased to start with? You never consider the infrastructure, roads, doctors, schools, sewage, increased traffic etc., when drawing up these plans and what if any will be social housing which is the most needed of all builds? NONE!

Draft Bradford District Local Plan - Preferred Options (Regulation 18) February 2021

Representation ID: 15499

Received: 19/03/2021

Respondent: Highways England (Yorkshire & North East Team)

Representation Summary:

It is not considered that locating development within the
settlements within Keighley, on their own, will have a severe impact on the capacity, operation and safety of the SRN, and this will be identified through the transport evidence base being prepared by the Council / the individual assessment of the transport implications of the sites by the sites’ promoters.
However, the quantum of sites forms part of a wider cumulative impact within Keighley and the rest of the development aspirations within the Plan could severely impact the SRN, and this cumulative impact will need to be established by the Council and considered by Highways England.

Draft Bradford District Local Plan - Preferred Options (Regulation 18) February 2021

Representation ID: 20751

Received: 23/03/2021

Respondent: Cllr Adrian Farley

Representation Summary:

I am writing to submit feedback regarding the land allocations identified within Keighley West Ward.

My first observation is that Keighley West Ward has no parks and limited green space amenity; this ought to be addressed through the Local Plan to address this imbalance to ensure that residents “buy in” to the Plan and feel that this is a document that is owned by the whole District.

In addition to green space and parkland, the other issue that needs ought to be taken into consideration is the drainage. There has been significant development over the last few years in the Oakworth Road area, namely the former Bronte School site and the Occupation Lane site. Both these sites have contributed to significant drainage issues in the area. The area is not equipped to deal with these developments.

More Houses are proposed to be built on OUR Greenland at Exley Head & other places. The Schools, GP Surgeries, Dentists, Enviroment, Sewage, Drains,Flooding,Traffic Problems, The Road Quality due to Water/Flooding, Our area cannot sustaine much more pressure.
After the building work Off Occupation Lane (Persimmons) the issues are clear to see, the fields are flooding, the drains stop doing their job, so then our gardens/roads are flooded, our homes are affected by this large housing estate. More houses will just make all this worse.
