Site is important community and recreational greenspace
Two previous applications were rejected because of the strength of Community feeling. This has not changed !
The land is used to: Meet Neighbours, exercise, play, sledge and provides outside space for homes without Gardens . This would be lost if these houses were built here and would massive impact this Area.
Other Brownfield sites in this area more suitable for Social Housing .
The relatively small number of houses proposed on this site cannot justify the Massive impact on over 200 Households who use this Green Space on a Daily basis.
The land provides an outstanding view of the UNESCO world Heritage site that is Salts Mill and Saltaire Village which would be forever lost in a sea of Houses .
Government and local policy in past years has dictated that Recreational Open Space like this should be protected for Community Use .
