I frequently use the valley for walking with my family, it is a uniquely beautiful asset. It is a finite resource between Leeds and Bradford.
During the pandemic, the area has been enjoyed by residents of our cities
It is lunacy to destroy an asset that so many people use for exercise and wellbeing from experiencing Nature.
There are many empty urban lots around Bradford that would benefit far more from social and economic development. This must be done first.
Extending the sprawl into countryside is hugely wasteful. The valley acts a huge carbon sink and absorbs moisture. This wooded valley and its meandering streams absorb and slow many tons of floodwater that could otherwise contribute to disasters downstream.
