Representation Summary:

The depletion of the Green Belt areas around the village in general is to be deplored.
In the case of this particular area, the addition of houses at this point effectively increases the size of the village boundary. At the present time, as one travels up Silsden Road, towards Silsden, the perception is that the village ends at the start of the playing field on the righthand side. Further housing would extend that perception up to the roundabout on the A65 bypass, decreasing the distance between the villages and thus contrary to established practice of discouraging " string development ".
The period property now on the site is situated a good distance from Silsden Road and is totally in keeping with the rural area. Hiding that property with a cluster of modern houses is not to be applauded.
