Draft Bradford District Local Plan - Preferred Options (Regulation 18) February 2021

Representation ID: 1103

Received: 09/03/2021

Respondent: Mrs Lynne Collins

Representation Summary:

This is a steep site which has a natural spring in the middle of it. It is also opposite a conservation area of Braithwaite village and will encroach on the surrounding farmland. Traffic will increase within the older part of Laycock where the road narrows to single traffic only and where there are no pavements to protect walkers. This could potentially damage this ancient village, cause higher levels of pollution and raises the risk of increased road traffic accidents causing injury to drivers and pedestrians (including young children accessing the local primary school). We already have a problem with people speeding through the village and would require more traffic calming measures to be put in place - thus affecting the aesthetics of this ancient site.
