Greenfield site
Since recent housing, care home development along Keighley Road proposed development would remove last greenfields from Keighley to Oakworth village centre.
Ref Planning Policy GB1 " Except in very special circumstances planning permission will not be given within the greenbelt etc"
Specific ref 13.4 and 13.4 a
Proposal is totally in contradiction to the policy.
Site access , traffic
Proposal states need to rectify steep level change from Keighley Rd to site and reconfigure junction with Slaymaker Lane. Houses along Keighley Rd in both directions dont have drives or garages. Cars parked on pavement making road single lane. Same situation Slaymaker Lane and emergency access Maple Avenue. Dangerous congestion especially school start,
finish times.
Drainage
Area named Bogthorn and Sykes Lane ( old English stream). Pond in field, water table, springline disturbed by new building. Existing houses on Keighley Rd and Valley View have experienced flooded gardens, cellars.
