Representation Summary:

The village of Oakworth has increased in size dramatically in the last 50+ years. The area adjacent to Dockroyd used to be a beautiful open green space which was permitted by planning to be built over with the existing housing . Very little of its previous beauty now remains . To build further on what precious green belt remains would entirely close in the area and destroy what remains of its character. In addition the village has serious problems with traffic congestion through its centre where during peak times traffic often comes to a standstill because of parked cars accessing the school and shops narrowing the road to a single lane. Further Housing and cars would only add to the congestion and create more Demand on our already overstretched School and services. The village School has already built over most of its outdoor space because of demand.
