Respondent: Heather Lister

Representation Summary:

Moss Carr Road cannot and should not support 142 new homes.

Moss Carr Road is incredibly busy with parked cars and effectively one-way where single cars can pass at any one time. Additional houses (sites KY18/H & KY19/H) will create unacceptable congestion. Queried where people will park and whether the road can handle additional vehicles.

Bridge over the river at Park Lane also single track and has huge amounts of traffic travelling both into Long Lee, Parkwood and over into Harden and beyond. Requirement years ago that development in Long Lee had to tackle the problem, but nothing done.

Lack of local facilities (1 school, 1 pub, 1 shop) in Long Lee to support proposals.

Green belt should be protected and should not be destroyed. Site is a natural habitat for many birds, (ducks, migrating geese, herons and stalks).

Development would cause disturbance and affect property values.
