Representation Summary:

Keighley South East

We have a great deal of brownfield land in Keighley ready for housing, with access to shops, surgeries and transport. It does not make sense to destroy the green fields in Long Lee, especially for the huge development suggested for Moss Carr. Long Lee and Thwaites Brow already has a wide mix of old and new housing, including affordable housing.

Building 103 new houses on this quiet lane would be wrong in so many ways. The land is boggy. The sewage and waste water run-off would be catastrophic for the land and farmhouses below. Moss Carr is a quiet country lane providing access to farms and the few houses along it. It is much used and loved by locals for recreation and access to the moors and fields, with views across to Keighley Moor. It has been a lifeline during lockdown. Please do not ruin it.
