What is also unwelcome is the idea espoused in Policy DS2 (Question 64) that the landscape can be “worked with”. There are some landscapes, and the Tong Valley is one of them, where integrity and lack of built environment are essential to their quality and where “creating new quality green spaces” is not an alternative to destroying existing quality Green Belt land.
