Draft Bradford District Local Plan - Preferred Options (Regulation 18) February 2021

Representation ID: 13886

Received: 20/03/2021

Respondent: John Finnigan

Representation Summary:

I agree that the Council should proactively manage flood risk across the District
Suggested that the policy should also take into account flood risk damage to adjacent authorities. Reason is in relation site allocations SE37/E, SE46/H SE47/H and SE48/H where the location of the proposed development appears to flaunt all the previously noted policies relating to flood prevention
SE37/E is at the head of the Cockersdale stream which drains through Cockersdale (Leeds MDC) joining the Tong stream at Roker Lane
SE46/H, Se47/H and SE48/H are at the head of the Tong stream draining through Tong Valley, joining the Cockersdale stream at Roker Lane and then through the Troydale Estate (Leeds MDC) to drain into the Farnley Balancing Reservoir on the Leeds Ring Road.

Flooding happened regularly in the Tong Valley. It has become more serious following the last major building developments around the Holme Wood estate and as a result of climate change.
