Draft Bradford District Local Plan - Preferred Options (Regulation 18) February 2021

Representation ID: 1465

Received: 13/03/2021

Respondent: Mr Alan Wright

Representation Summary:

Residents of Nab Wood already have to put up with a large number of drivers using Nab Wood as a "rat run" between Cottingley Cliffe Rd and the A650 or Moorhead despite the existence of a 20 mile hour speed limit. Creating access to 160 new homes via Glen view Drive would result in even more local traffic leading to further congestion, pollution and danger to those walking and cycling. Traffic volumes will be worsened by the fact that the site has no shops or recreational facilities nearby and poor links with public transport.

There would be loss of valuable habitat including woodland, hedgerows and grassland which form part of the green corridor for wildlife. The green boundary between Nab Wood and Cottingley would be eroded leading to a loss of identity for both.

There are local brownfield sites and numerous empty commercial premises with far better links to amenities.
