Draft Bradford District Local Plan - Preferred Options (Regulation 18) February 2021

Representation ID: 1523

Received: 14/03/2021

Respondent: Mr Mike Smith

Representation Summary:

Oakworth is a village and is already overdeveloped and this will add further strain on local amenities, theses are green belt sites and should remain as such for nature and peoples mental well being, village is already congested with traffic and difficult to park and drive through, large new recent developments at Hareton Way, and new construction at Branshaw Park, The infrastructure is inadequate to support any more development, Major road works will be needed to gain access to new development on Sykes Lane as it is a sloping access. There is more suitable land that is not green belt (designed to limit urban sprawl) which is close to public transport links and new jobs, there is no demand in Oakworth, redevelop existing sites ie disused mills and buildings near the city as these have the potential of being near employment and have better transport links.
