Draft Bradford District Local Plan - Preferred Options (Regulation 18) February 2021

Representation Summary:

I strongly object to housing being built on the green belt at Heights Lane. It is narrow and regularly used by horseriders. Our community school is already oversubscribed, and the amenities in the area are not appropriate to support even more housing. Traffic on Otley road is already too heavy, further housing will exacerbate this problem. The mini roundabout will also struggle if the Heights Lane entrance is in more regular use. Green Belt land is designated for protection. It is ecological vandalism to ignore this and build. Use Brownfield sites. Rejuvenate towns and cities so more people want to live there. Do your job properly and stop cutting corners because green belt land doesn’t require clean up. Do better. People need homes, and they will go where they’re built, build on Brownfield sites.
