Draft Bradford District Local Plan - Preferred Options (Regulation 18) February 2021

Respondent: Mr Trevor Mitchell

Representation Summary:

If this proposed development were to go ahead it would have a significantly detrimental effect on the quality of life for everyone living in the surrounding area. It is valuable green space used for exercise and well-being by many and the loss of the mature woodland in particular would have a devastating impact on residents and wildlife. That woodland provides a pocket of rural appeal visible to all and it's removal would urbanise and completely alter the appearance of Nab Wood. The damage could not be mitigated by tree planting. This development would spoil views, air quality, increase noise and traffic levels on unsuitable narrow residential roads and make the whole area less desirable to live in.
There are ample empty office and factory sites which could be used for residential development, rather than the continued building on green belt land. I strongly object.
