Draft Bradford District Local Plan - Preferred Options (Regulation 18) February 2021

Representation ID: 164

Received: 15/02/2021

Respondent: Mr David Ward

Representation Summary:

It is in a conservation area. The area is basically Victorian architecture and new builds do not seem appropriate. How can the council assign an area of conservation, then break it's own bye laws? The land is very close to a historical monument - the Old (packhorse) Bridge, a feature that many visitors and locals enjoy. New housing will have a negative visual impact on it's beautiful setting. The land is very small, fitting 9 houses onto it would look overcrowded. It's in a floodplain area. On street parking is already overloaded, more housing means more cars.
