Please note existing proposals for development in the above area:
1. There is planning application for the redevelopment of Barkerend Mill for residential use.
2. There was (pre app) application for the development of surrounding site in February 2020, to provided 3 light industrial units and a restaurant. Full application would be forwarded within the next 2-4 weeks.
This project would provide business opportunities for small companies and selfemployed entrepreneurs. Bradford Council holds legal charge under S106 over
this site which provides that at least 12000 square foot on this site should be developed for business purposes to provide employment.
This project would create around 100 employments in the area. As surrounding area is already used for business purposes, therefore, the developer requires Bradford Council’s full support for his development application of this site which surrounds Barkerend Mills and Lidl Supermarket.
