Draft Bradford District Local Plan - Preferred Options (Regulation 18) February 2021

Representation ID: 17100

Received: 24/03/2021

Respondent: Dr Katherine Dashper

Representation Summary:

My objections relate to concern about the loss of habitat and biodiversity for wildlife and flora and the loss of valuable green space that has been invaluable particularly in the pandemic.

There is a wide variety of birds, small animals, deer, and open spaces that encourage wildlife to settle, breed and survive. The area proposed for development borders an area recognised as a Bradford Wildlife Area and an area of special interest ecologically and geologically.

There would be a loss of an area used by many for walking and horse riding.

There are other areas locally that could be used for house building (particularly brownbelt land) that would be much more suitable and would not detract from the valuable ecological resources.
