Draft Bradford District Local Plan - Preferred Options (Regulation 18) February 2021

Representation ID: 1712

Received: 16/03/2021

Respondent: Mr John Turton

Representation Summary:

All the following will be compromised if site WI/2H is used. This site should be retained as Green belt in favour of another site for necessary housing numbers;
- Access/safety (the primary road is single carriageway and unsuitable for HGVs and even medium traffic )
- Flooding risk (the site, surrounding highways and local properties are subject to flooding now. More imperveous surfaces will make this worse)
- Heritage infringement (non-designated houses are opposite the site and grade II listed within 80 metres)
- Sprawl into local hamlet (destroying the history of the area)
- Equine safety (the region ihouses many large stables . Over 50 horse/riders use the highways daily - building work and more residents will create major safety issues)
- Cemetery serenity (The active Wilsden Cemetery is opposite the build site and buidling and homes will detract from the peace afforded to a place of rest)
