Draft Bradford District Local Plan - Preferred Options (Regulation 18) February 2021

Representation ID: 1858

Received: 16/03/2021

Respondent: Mr Kirill Horoshenkov

Representation Summary:

Our household object for the following reasons:
(i) Sewers are old and regularly leak out. 130 new houses are likely to generate extra 32.5l/s peak flow with which the existing sewers won't cope.
(ii) There is no spare capacity for drainage. A 6-hour 75mm intensive rainfall over 7 hectares on an impervious site would generate 5,385m3 of run-off (2 Olympic pools). The existing pipes and Ben Rhydding WWT will overflow affecting properties, water quality in River Wharf and stability of the railway.
(iii) There are no proper roads to access the site. Wheatley Grove is no more that 3m wide at its start at Wheatley Lane with 1-way railway bridge. Ben Rhydding Drive is narrow with no pedestrian walkways. This will impact severely on road safety particularly elderly, children and cyclists.
(iv) The site is a home to a wide variety of wild species which include owls, bats and deer.
