Draft Bradford District Local Plan - Preferred Options (Regulation 18) February 2021

Representation ID: 2103

Received: 18/03/2021

Respondent: Mr Peter Barron

Representation Summary:

Traffic volumes from this site will cause congestion and delays at the A65 junction even after any modifications. Building houses on this site will encourage further development along the A65 over time. Existing infrastructure services, particularly school places, are insufficient to cope with the demand generated from all these proposed developments
There were provisional plans for the site to used for a new larger Ilkley Grammar School providing much needed additional senior school places for the surrounding district. That would release the existing school land for new houses better situated for the town amenities. Also contemplated on IL3/H was the provision of a park and ride service thereby helping to alleviate the towns severe parking problems.
Overall a much more elegant solution.
