Having examined the extensive proposed plans for housing development in Queensbury, I feel there is an omission worth noting. I think the Queensbury Golf Club site should be considered. With regards to the Fleet Lane/ Old Guy Road site - whilst some development there is feasible, I would consider the current plans to be far too extensive and to the detriment of the area: density of housing, local infrastructure etc.
Conversely, the Golf Club site seems ideal for helping to satisfy demands for more local housing. It has good access to a main road, is relatively near to the centre of the village, close to shops and other services. Even a bus stop alongside. There is a recent development next to the site, which appears successful. Therefore the QGC site should come into the equation and may relieve potential over density of development elsewhere in the village.
