Whilst I agree with much of what is included in the proposed Policy EN7, I must object on the ground of several items contained within it. To achieve the over-arching environmental and social aims, development in the floodplain must not be permitted. The inclusion of item A.4 appears to contradict the policies and aims detailed elsewhere in the draft Local Plan. Item A.5 mentions Flood Zones 2 and 3a but these are not defined anywhere within the related section of the draft Local Plan. Given the impacts of recent flood events, such as in December 2015, and their apparent increasing frequency, development within Flood Zone 3a (associated with a fluvial flood of 1 in 100 (1%) AEP or more frequent) should be prevented and there should be a longer-term aim of removing existing development within this.
