Draft Bradford District Local Plan - Preferred Options (Regulation 18) February 2021
Representation ID: 272
Received: 18/02/2021
Respondent: Mr Phil Batman
Representation Summary:
The main objection is the increased risk of flooding to existing houses in Bridge Lane that new housing would create. Cellars of existing houses bordering the proposed site require pumps to expel water that runs off from higher ground after heavy rainfall when the river is in flood. The road between the proposed development and the river frequently floods, with extension occasionally over the pavement and into front gardens. The existing permeable area acts to slow rainwater and helps to reduce flooding. Any increased roof area and hard standing from the development will exacerbate the existing problem of flooding.
