Draft Bradford District Local Plan - Preferred Options (Regulation 18) February 2021

Representation ID: 27462

Received: 24/03/2021

Respondent: Ms Helen Bowman-Wray

Representation Summary:

I’m attaching a recent article from the Craven Herald about the tree planting scheme currently undertaken at the Broughton estate near Skipton.

Nearly 30 years ago myself and my colleagues spent some time persuading council officers who had woods within their remit to work with us to increase the well below average tree coverage in Bradford. We called our scheme the Forest of Bradford. It was hard going but now I see it’s mentioned as part of Bradford’s biodiversity.

So now Bradford could do something really amazing in the Aire Valley and there is so much benefit from this. Particularly for SH5/H and SH6/H. The watercourses higher up at SH4/H and the existing flora and fauna would have to be taken into consideration.

Thank you for reading this and I sincerely hope you choose a sustainable future plan for Bradford.
