Too many 'shoe box' quick build housing seems to be being built on areas of flooding - bonkers! The same is true of industrial sites. Flood plains play a vital role naturally and we should stop messing with them.
It would be great of people were discouraged from completely tarmacking / bricking over their gardens as collectively, this causes a massive problem with surface water as well as reducing habitat and biodiversity.
