Draft Bradford District Local Plan - Preferred Options (Regulation 18) February 2021

Representation ID: 3507

Respondent: Ms Jan Taylor

Representation Summary:

Similarly to my objection to SH5/H, this would be an unacceptable loss of Green Belt land. As this is right next to a deciduous woodland priority habitat, it is bound to adversely affect wildlife and biodiversity in the area.
With the site only 15m from the River Aire, this development will inevitably impact the river. It seems incomprehensible that while so much work is being done to improve the river for many reasons, including biodiversity and to improve people's health and wellbeing, that this development could be considered. Views from the footpaths nearby would be adversely affected, too.
There must also be a very high risk of flooding, as has been apparent on that stretch of river in recent years.
Access from the already heavily-congested Bradford Road would worsen traffic and be detrimental to air quality and therefore the health of the local population.
