This small parcel of open land is essential to the character and amenity value of this charming, popular and unspoiled corner of central Ilkley which gives access to the scheduled monument ancient bridge and the riverside.

The fact that it would contribute such a small number of houses towards the overall target numbers required by Bradford means it should be retained in order that this area and access is not compromised.

The land could, and should, be retained for future development that would benefit the community, such as a formal gardens (like Millennial gardens) or perhaps a future memorial site.
