Draft Bradford District Local Plan - Preferred Options (Regulation 18) February 2021

Representation ID: 4249

Received: 23/03/2021

Respondent: Dr Sheila Lewis

Representation Summary:

The use of green belt land for house building cannot be supported. The countryside is too precious a resource to lose due to lack of strategic thinking about the needs of local people. The size of the developments and the households proposed for these sites cannot be supported by local services.
Smaller sites such as Stockheld Road and Skipton Road plus other available plots (repurposed large gardens and previously industrial sites) could better provide for the type of housing which would support young local people and also provide smaller properties for older people to 'down size' into thus releasing family sized housing stock back into the market.
