KY19/H is a greenfield site with access via Moss Carr Road. Moss Carr Road is a narrow road whose residents do not have off street parking therefore the road has very limited and difficult access.
Moss Carr Road leads to a crossroads with Long Lee Lane, Calton Road and Thwaites Brow Road and visibility is poor with some blind spots from all these roads. There have been numerous near misses and building on Moss Carr Road with any increase of vehicles can only exacerbate this situation. In addition, traffic, including large wagons use this crossroads as a turning circle once the drivers realise they cannot access the by-pass via The Twines. The impact assessment fails to show that the road would not be able to accommodate a further 142 houses with 2 cars per household minimum without serious traffic intervention modifications.
