A housing development in this location would seriously impact on the traffic accessing Keighley via the constraints of Coney Bridge and accessing the by-pass via Parkwood Street where the primary school is located. The flow of traffic on Parkwood Street is already managed by chicanes to slow the large wagons en route to the numerous engineering companies. There are no facilities in this area apart from a couple of small shops.

Parkwood Street already operates as the unofficial Keighley South Eastern by-pass used by many motorists seeking to avoid the town centre congestion.
