Draft Bradford District Local Plan - Preferred Options (Regulation 18) February 2021

Representation ID: 570

Received: 27/02/2021

Respondent: Dr Nazya Fiaz

Representation Summary:

This plan contravenes the Govt's National Planning Policy Framework - for e.g. Para 91 of that Framework stipulates healthy, inclusive spaces - however, the proposed development will negatively impact my family's mental and physical well-being by infringing on our right to a healthy lifestyle achieved through accessing this nearby high-quality open space which encourages us to walk DAILY (!) to enjoy the beautiful views (see Para 96 of the Framework). The proposed development will STOP my family's engagement with the countryside.

The development contravenes the Council's own policy for a zero carbon future, and the scale of this development will significantly increase pollution (traffic fumes, noise, light) - the cumulative effects of which will adversely impact our health (Para 180). We will also suffer a loss of privacy and a community identity separating Shipley from Bingley.

This greenbelt is not "surplus" - IT IS HIGHLY VALUABLE TO US.
