This is a large, open green space which forms a barrier between Shipley and Cottingley. If lost it will mean that the two areas merge further contributing to urban sprawl. It provides space for wildlife e.g. deer. It will add congestion to an already busy road and increase air pollution. There are no local shops or other amenities resulting in increased road traffic and pollution.
