Draft Bradford District Local Plan - Preferred Options (Regulation 18) February 2021

Respondent: Ms Pauline Munro

Representation Summary:

the proposed extension of Ilkley with the 2 sites at BenRhydding is an appalling proposal , especially when coupled with the expansion of Burley.Viewed from the top of the moor the proximity of the two settlements and the loss of the distinction between them is a retrograde step. Ilkley has traded for years on its green open space and it is simply wrong to build houses on green belt land at the gateway to the town. It jeopardises the character of the town, impacts upon run off and flooding , will have a significant impact upon the road network and result in untold pressure on the school system - currently school places for the children which will arrive with this number of homes simply dont exist nor is there a plan to create them .
The 2 sites in Ilkley town centre should go ahead Bridge Lane and Skipton Road
