Representation Summary:

Green Belt is there to check unrestricted sprawl and preserve the setting of historic towns. Applications to build in Burley-in-Wharfedale and Menston will result in a merging of these villages and is against the reason why we have Green Belt.
Impact on infrastructure. Ilkley Grammar school – capacity and lack expansion space.
Clarity on the use of the site off Coutance Way is required.
Where will the extra children go to school?
Will the aging sewerage system cope with extra houses?
The proposals appear to be non-compliant with the Council’s policy of zero-carbon.
469 houses granted in the last 10 years on infill land. The trend to build on large gardens will continue. Housing requirements should be met through infill sites.
The shortage of housing is for affordable housing. Developers reduce the number of affordable homes after gaining permission.
What is the Council's justification for extra houses in Ilkley/Ben Rhydding?
