Draft Bradford District Local Plan - Preferred Options (Regulation 18) February 2021

Representation ID: 637

Received: 02/03/2021

Respondent: Mrs Judith Foody

Representation Summary:

Impact on the Bronte Way, Green Infrastructure corridor and the wider landscape. Portion of the site covered by open space designation and a 150 houses would destroy open aspect. The Bronte way runs along the site and is a key public footpath, tourist asset and has high cultural significance. Impact on Thornton's heritage and the recent Bronte Stones project.
Impact on Biodiversity: degradation of soil, the basic ecosystem foundation, increase in CO2 emissions, destruction of Owl, Kestrel and Bat feeding ground, impact on amphibians (frogs, toads and newts).
Proposal states it would deliver an estimated 50 dwellings which is more realistic that the heading which states 150. A confusing lack of clarity over the numbers.
