Draft Bradford District Local Plan - Preferred Options (Regulation 18) February 2021

Representation ID: 645

Received: 02/03/2021

Respondent: Mrs Susan Eardley

Representation Summary:

This is an important access route to the footpaths leading to Ben Rhydding nature reserve, and is also a wildlife haven, where we see lots of rabbits and have also seen deer.

No mention is made of how you will prevent further flooding of the fields to the north east (towards the A65). These fields and the road in places, particularly next to the water treatment site flood and become impassible to walkers for half of the year.

The Ben Rhydding nature reserve is a great community asset, it would be great if this development goes ahead, if pedestrian access through these fields and over the A65 could be Improved. During lockdown, this reserve was a haven for physical and mental well-being, but now that traffic is hugely increased, combines with flooding and no pedestrian crossing makes the journey there unpleasant.
