Draft Bradford District Local Plan - Preferred Options (Regulation 18) February 2021

The development will have an adverse impact on the Bronte Way, Green Infrastructure corridor and the wider landscape. The proposed site of supposedly 150 houses (or 50 - see final comment) will destroy the open aspect which is enjoyed by locals and tourists alike.
The Bronte way runs along the site and is a key public footpath, tourist asset and has high cultural significance, as well as providing an important economic benefit to local businesses.
There will be a negative impact on Thornton's heritage and the recent Bronte Stones project as well as an adverse impact on biodiversity: degradation of soil and basic ecosystem, increase in CO2 emissions, destruction of Owl, Kestrel and Bat feeding grounds, and amphibian habitats (frogs, toads and newts).
Proposal states it would deliver an estimated 50 dwellings, which is more realistic than the heading, which states 150. A confusing lack of clarity over the numbers.
