The site is designated as playing fields, the access road is not adequate, the proximity of the school to the road and development is against council policy on air quality and emissions, the site provides much needed open space for the local community.
Following discussions with local residents there is also concern that there are significant underground streams in the field. There is also some doubt about whether or not there is a covenant on the site which precludes building on it
