Representation ID: 724

Received: 04/03/2021

Respondent: Mr David Jackson

Representation Summary:

As a greenfield site partly wooded, part open field and wild life habitat it is part of the area’s ‘lungs’ and general quality of life. 160 dwellings - c 500 total folk - huge traffic impact on residential area along and connected to Glenview Rd in 20 mph zone, already used as a ‘rat race’ by thru traffic. This- worsened if no link to Cottingley Road. Alternative development as a wild life arboretum / leisure / exercise / wild flower meadow / nature reserve. Any guarantee that planned house development would be carbon neutral or any requirement to assess overall carbon footprint - homes and transport? Heating via ground or air pumps? Any small scale community areas, facilities, shops, leisure, play / exercise, walk, cycle ways, tree and scrub groves, incorporated? Or simply packing high density housing in with pocket- sized concreted gardens? Use brown field sites please!
