Representation Summary:

Planning proposal Stockled Road, Ilkley (IL4/H)
I am writing to object to the proposal to build nine houses on the land at Stockled Road, Ilkley
My reasons are:
1. Flood risk – this area of Bridge Lane is renowned for flooding and as a resident here for 37 years I have seen it only get worse in recent years. Further building on this land will only exacerbate this problem. When the Wharfe floods the houses 41-53 Bridge Lane get water in their cellars & some have pumps fitted to combat this.
2. This area is highly protected conservation with historical significance having the Old Pack Horse Bridge 100m away from the proposed development. In recent years planning has been refused on numerous extensions/dormer windows due to the conservation area status. It seems that when it suits though this is irrelevant when land is required for council building targets.
