Draft Bradford District Local Plan - Preferred Options (Regulation 18) February 2021

Representation Summary:

I have lived in Baildon for over 70 years and have gradually seen all the greenbelt disappear under housing. I object to more houses being built for many reasons including the amount of traffic that will need to use the roads out of Baildon, The only main road being Baildon Road as the Glen Road and the road to Hawksworth are narrow country lanes. I also know the schools are oversubscribed. We need some open space between the village centre and the Glen to protect wildlife, diversity and views. Also those fields absorb a lot of water run off Which is essential to protect the environment. I plead with you not to allow any more housing in Baildon unless it is on brownfield sites and small houses that young people can afford to buy.
