Draft Bradford District Local Plan - Preferred Options (Regulation 18) February 2021

Representation Summary:

Please consider this a provisional rejection which I will withdraw if satisfied about the issues.

The path through the Thornton site is used frequently by locals and is also part of the Brontë Way long distance trail. This means that it is frequently used by people unfamiliar with the area. I am concerned that this could result in people becoming lost on a building site.

I would be happy with this development if:

The builders undertake to leave the current path safe and accessible for as long as practically possible.

If at some stages this is not possible a safe and clearly signed reasonable diversion should be provided.

Building workers on site should be briefed about the pedestrian access.

If plant or construction vehicles need to cross the path frequently at some stages of the building, temporary signs warning drivers to look out for pedestrians should be in place.
