Draft Bradford District Local Plan - Preferred Options (Regulation 18) February 2021

Representation ID: 854

Respondent: Mr Arron Cawthray

Representation Summary:

The air quality by the road side is already bad enough that I choose not to walk near this development. Not only will the development increase local traffic, but the inhabitants will suffer as a result. Furthermore, it is a sorry state to see the development being built on a "100% greenfield site containing trees". To add to insult, the site borders " an area of deciduous woodland priority habitat". The fields acts as a buffer around the habitat and must not be used for housing. There is plenty of brownfield land, most notably in Keighley, which should be built upon before we allow greenfield sites to be decimated. The Aire valley is slowly becoming less and less green. How about we redevelop and clean up old industrial sites first?
