Draft Bradford District Local Plan - Preferred Options (Regulation 18) February 2021

Representation ID: 917

Received: 07/03/2021

Respondent: Mrs Eileen Thompson

Representation Summary:

Oakworth is already an over developed village with new large housing estates built in the last couple of years or currently being built. Further developments would further the already heavy traffic and congestion through the village. Local services and amenities are already stretched and under pressure. Oakworth surgery is closing and haworth is already full. Local schools are also full. The proposed site is a greenbelt area which adjoins a conservation area. The field is a wildlife corridor for deer, bats, owls and is the only wild meadow I know of in the area. The character of the setting will be encroached upon. Communities are slowly encroaching upon one another. The proposed area for entry to the site is directly next to a children's play area. The road cannot accommodate much more through traffic as cars are often double parked. There are brown belt areas nearby that could be used.
