Draft Bradford District Local Plan - Preferred Options (Regulation 18) February 2021

Representation ID: 9310

Received: 15/03/2021

Respondent: Hillary Rooke

Representation Summary:

Moss Carr Road cannot and should not support 142 new houses.

Access - Moss Carr Road is incredibly busy with parked cars and effectively one-way where single cars can pass at any one time. Additional houses (sites KY18/H & KY19/H) will create unacceptable congestion. Queried where people will park and whether the road can handle additional vehicles.

Park Lane Bridge - Has huge amounts of traffic. Requirement years ago that development in Long Lee had to tackle the problem, but nothing done.

Amenities - No capacity to support hundreds of new homes.

Green Belt - site is Green Belt and should be protected, not destroyed. It is a natural habitat for birds (ducks, migrating geese, herons, stalks)

Constant influx of new housing is causing this village to become an add on to the town. Resources are stretched to capacity (school, doctors, play spaces). Green Belt being swallowed and habitats destroyed.

Re-think plan for housing and to preserve the Long Lee/Moss Carr Road community.
